FINE ART PRINTMAKING
Change the plan in reflection
In the process of collage, I found that my practice could not accurately express the sense of confusion brought about by a large amount of information, and in the tutorial with Jo, she suggested that I should not create from the perspective of business, but try to reflect the influence of consumerism from my own perspective. Jo suggested that I could create directly with the receipt instead of merging it into the collage. She also suggested that I could modify the price on the receipt, which might be very interesting. So I modified the unit price in the receipt to raise the price of many cheap goods. In this way, I created a sense of absurdity. After tutorial, I revised my topic to change the topic to the impact of excessive consumption. I think I should look at consumerism from my own perspective, so I collected a lot of friends and the receipts I received in shopping. I try to extract vision and language from the consumer products that make up everyday life. Here are some small tickets. You can see that there are many exaggerated prices on the tickets. In terms of materials, I chose toilet paper as my material, because it has been one of the most basic materials to maintain modern life. It is a kind of rigid demand. For people, when people's bills become necessities in life like toilet paper, what changes will happen to our life, thus causing people to think about excessive consumption. In doing this experiment, I also encountered a lot of difficulties. At first, I wanted to print the modified receipt on toilet paper with digital printing, but the teacher said toilet paper was not suitable for digital printing, and then I tried screen printing. I also encountered many difficulties, such as unclear printing, and because toilet paper was too soft to print, so I went The art store bought a lot of different special paper to try, and I experimented with different toilet paper. Just like what you see on the left, the picture on the right is an experiment with special paper. The picture on the left is a draft before printing toilet paper, but I like the visual effect, so I recorded it. This is the final draft of the experiment.
