Artist Jiang Heng's works always show the exaggeration, gaudy, fragile and nihilistic consumption era and the fantasy of diversified dreams in a concrete narrative way.
In his work "Huabu", there are repeated patterns on the background of Pastel yellow, pink green and pink, including traditional Chinese auspicious patterns, such as red fish and butterfly, and modern desire mapping, such as pistol, apple, lemon, lipstick and so on. These images are combined to form a gaudy and slightly erotic feeling, It is just like the wrapping paper of commodities. Artists minimize subjectivity and present a fragment of life.
In my opinion, Jiang Heng's works describe the sensory stimulation brought by material consumption in a detached way. On the one hand, his works are based on the accelerating society, on the other hand, they involve the reality of daily life in a realistic way. I can feel his expanding thinking about consumerism. To present the content I’d like to express in a daily way is also the direction I would like to expand next.
